Margaret Brooks

Margaret Caudill Brooks, age 85 of 654 Thurmond Luffman Road, Thurmond, NC passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Hugh Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkin, NC. She was born April 22, 1933 in Alleghany County to the late Andrew and Pearl Vannoy Caudill. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Elmer Brooks; one grandson, Richard Caudill; two brothers, Dan Caudill and Roscoe Caudill; two sisters, Edith Todd and infant Ruby Caudill. Margaret loved quilting, crocheting, and gardening. She was an active member of Liberty Knob Regular Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Walter “Buddy” Caudill and wife Linda of State Road, Herman Brooks and wife Peggy of Thurmond; one daughter, Loria Grady and husband Anthony of Clemmons; one stepson, Reverend David Brooks and wife Frances of Fremont; two grandchildren, Teresa Pruitt and Andrew Grady; four step-grandchildren, Adaline Grady, Hayden Grady, Darin Brooks, Jeff Brooks; one great-granddaughter, Abagail Pruitt; two sisters, Elsie Crouse of Glade Valley, Esther Caudill of State Road; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Margaret at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Overcash and Elder Gib Lyon officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Knob Regular Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
