Mildred Brooks

Mildred Caudill Brooks, age 87 of Glade Valley, NC passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Villages of Wilkes in North Wilkesboro, NC. She was born May 29, 1931 in Alleghany County to the late Robert Clint and Bessie Pruitt Caudill. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lacy H. Brooks; one son, Maynard Brooks; three brothers, Hal Caudill, Larry Caudill, and Robert Leo Caudill; four sisters, Ruby Dancy, Mabel Brooks, Faye Crouse, and Cleo Brooks. She is survived by two daughters, Dawn Villarruel and husband Alejo of Glade Valley, Lori Edwards and husband Dalton of Taylorsville; four grandchildren, Miguel Villarruel of Glade Valley, Tristen Villarruel of Glade Valley, Crystal Williams and husband Isreal of Mt. Airy, Courtney Marlow and husband Jermey of Glade Valley; one great-grandson, Connor Lockey of Mt. Airy; one sister, Wanda Turner and husband Harold of Jonesville; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to celebrate the life of Mildred at 12:00 noon, Monday, August 13, 2018 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Roy Houser officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Glen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
