Ania (Ann) Hendrix

Ania (Ann) Leona Hendrix, age 87, of 146 Sunset Drive, Sparta, died Monday, December 7, 2015 at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, Virginia. She was born in Grayson County, Virginia, January 12, 1928 to the late Swanson and Alma Cox. She was the widow of C.J. Hendrix. She is survived by a son, Don Shumate of Fries, VA; daughter-in-law, Barbara Ezell of Independence, VA; granddaughter and spouse, Jennifer and Tim Hollingsworth of Mouth of Wilson, VA; granddaughter, Sandy Shumate of Independence, VA; great-granddaughter, Easton Hollingsworth; two step-sons and spouses, Roger and Barbara Hendrix of Sparta, Rocky and Beverly Hendrix of Wilkesboro; four step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Ann at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Elder Pete Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in the Sparta Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the funeral home and other times at the home 146 Sunset Drive, Sparta, NC.
