Barbara Anne Blankenship

Barbara Anne Crabtree Blankenship, age 74 of 976 Collins Rd., Sparta, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at her residence. She was born May 24, 1940 in Welch, WV to the late Samuel and Barbara Osborne Crabtree. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Crabtree; two sisters: Carol Crabtree and Mary Pardue; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Blankenship. Survivors include her husband, Buddy Blankenship of the home; four sons: Gary Blankenship and wife Pam of West Jefferson, Randell Blankenship and wife Bonnie of Ennice, Dean Blankenship of Henderson, Timothy Blankenship and wife Kathy of Sparta; a daughter, Tina Joines and husband Tim of Glade Valley; Ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; a special great-niece and great-nephew also survive. A memorial service will be conducted to honor the life of Mrs. Blankenship at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Savannah United Methodist Church with the Reverends Brandon Berg and Jeff Callahan officiating. Inurnment will follow at Sparta Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and all other times at the residence.
