Celestino Manuel “Tino” Garcia, age 57 of 1367 Memorial Park Drive, Sparta, NC passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. He was born August 28, 1960 in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba to Celestino Emmanuel Garcia and Zonia Ruiz Nacer. He was preceded in death by one niece, Gisselle Calderin; one uncle, Manuel Ruiz Nacer; grandmother, Oliva Nacer; one aunt, Nancy Ruiz Nacer; grandfather, Manuel Ruiz Scott. Tino was a generous soul and loved helping others. He attended St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Sparta and Little Flower Catholic Church in Miami, FL. He is survived by his parents; sisters, Sonia Nordelo and husband Julio , Alicia Marrero; nieces and nephews, Lissette S. Nordelo, Monique Iglesias and husband Xavier, Christopher J. Nordelo and wife Monica, Gabriel Marrero, Andres Marrero; great nieces and nephews, Emily Millan, Leonardo Nordelo, Maximo Nordelo, Angelina Iglesias, Marcus Iglesias, Jeremiah Marrero; several other family members survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral mass to honor the life of Tino at 12:30 p.m., Monday, March 19, 2018 at St. Frances Rome Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Sparta Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
