Claud James Taylor, age 82 of Sparta, NC passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at The Landings of Chestnut Grove. He was born April 30, 1941 to the late Woodson B. and Ida Holdbrooks Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his wife Brenda Cherry Taylor; daughter Judy Taylor; three sisters, Bertha Paul, Katie Shepherd, Lucy Griffin; two brothers, W.B. Taylor, David Taylor. He is survived by two daughters, Beth Trgovic (Peter) of Ennice, Cherry Taylor of Washington; two sons, Jimmy Taylor (Sherry) of NC, Jeffery Taylor (Doris) of NC; four grandchildren, Rachel Roberson of Asheboro, Olivia Roberson of NC, Nikolas Roberson of Raleigh, Parker Harris of Washington; one great-grandson, Jaden Roberson of Ennice; one sister, Mary Boyd of Mt. Airy; one sister-in-law, Margaret Ann Beddard (Mack) of Greenville; several nieces and nephews also survive. James was a hard worker from the age of 14. He was devoted to the love of his life, wife Brenda. He had a special bond with his great-grandson Jaden who he helped raise since he was a baby. He had a lot of special friends at The Landings, and they called him Speedy. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of James at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at Snowd Branch Church of God with Mr. Mack Beddard and Pastor Kevin Whaley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 5 to 7 pm at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, NC. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to Snowd Branch Church of God, 3283 VOA Road, Washington, NC 27889.
