Clayton Talmadge Sheets

Clayton Talmadge Sheets, age 90 of 8067 US Hwy 221, Scottville, NC passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Grayson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Independence, VA. He was born July 3, 1926 in Alleghany County to the late Clark E. and Flora Jane Hill Sheets. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Keitha Sheets; five brothers; two sisters; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Sheets. Clay spent 52 years as Manager of Camp Carmel in Linville, NC. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Georgia Sheets of the home; one son, Donnie Sheets and wife JoAnn of Piney Creek; two grandchildren, Darrick Sheets and wife Mallissa of Walkerton, Donna Johnson and husband Allen of Clemmons; three great-grandchildren, Andrew Sheets and wife Allie of Myrtle Beach, SC, Brandon Sheets and wife Becca of Winston-Salem, Porter Johnson of Clemmons; two great-great-grandchildren, Lillian Sheets and Braiden Sheets both of Myrtle Beach, SC; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Clay at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Church of the Brethren in Scottville with Pastor Dale Baugus officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior the funeral service at the church and other times at the residence. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to Mt.
