Clyde Andrews Greene

Clyde Andrews Edwards Greene, age 96, of 3286 Chestnut Grove Church Road, Sparta, died Wednesday morning, December 23, 2015 at her home. She was born in Alleghany County August 3, 1919 to the late Ellis and Ada Edwards Andrews. She is also preceded in death by her husbands; Glenn Thomas Edwards and Garnie Greene; two sons; Elder Jackie Ray Edwards and Ralph Thomas Edwards; four brothers, Howard, Raymond, Edward and Guy Andrews; four sisters, Marie Wagoner, Mabel Greene, Lucille Lyons and Helen White; step-son, Joe Bill Greene; step-daughter, Sally Shermer. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Harold Hayes of Sparta; a son and daughter-in-law, Junior Boyd and Rachel Edwards of Ennice; two step-sons and spouses, Jim and Ann Greene of Pfafftown, Ronnie and Mary Greene of Ennice; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren, twenty-one step-great-grandchildren and four step-great-great-grandchildren; a special niece; Venaree Sparks; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. The family request the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Clyde at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Reverends Everett Shaw and Jerry Roten officiating. Interment will follow in the Glade Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Betty and Harold Hayes, 3286 Chestnut Grove Church Road, Sparta.
