He was born April 29, 1959 in Alleghany County to the late Sam and Eva Brown Billings. He is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Bob Christian of Fancy Gap, VA; one brother, Kenny Billings of Sparta; one nephew, Riley Billings; special friend, Ron Dodson of Winston-Salem; two aunts, Marie Busic of Piney Creek, Louise Paisley and husband Larry of Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 in New Hope Church Cemetery. Danny was a coworker with me for four years and he always had a kind word and a smile. He joked around a lot and we always tried to one up the other person. I was shocked and sadden by his passing. Please know that he was one of a kind and I pray for healing for family and friends.

I had the pleasure of knowing Danny for 35 years. While I was his Director at work for all those years, I considered him a dear friend of mine. He was such a kind person and was so dedicated to his work and coworkers. I will so miss his great sense of humor and will always hold a special place in my heart for him as he was there for me when both my parents passed. I lost a very dear friend and coworker of 24 years Monday. Danny was one of the sweetest, most kind and caring human beings I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was always there to help and listen if anyone needed anything. I will so miss his funny stories, infectious laugh, his smile, his great sense of humor and most of all the very special friendship we shared.
