Don Richardson

Don Ray Richardson, age 50 of 138 Barr Road, Piney Creek, N.C. passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Alleghany Health in Sparta, N.C. He was born November 5, 1969 in Alleghany County to the late Carl Richardson and Mary Severt Richardson Wagoner. Don was a loving and dedicated husband of 12 years, father, Paw and friend. If you met him you knew you would leave with a smile. He was a dedicated Senior Detention Officer with Alleghany Sheriff’s Office. He loved antique cars and the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Pam Richardson of the home; two daughters, Tonya Nash and husband Chad of Draper, VA, Tracey Gentle and husband Adrian of Yadkinville; seven grandchildren; one sister, Teresa Edwards and husband James of Glade Valley; one brother, Raymond Richardson and wife Abby of Telford, TN; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Don at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 18, 2020 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Granville Branch and Robbie Dolinger officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 12:00 noon until time of the service at the funeral home, and other times at the residence. Graveside service will be private. The family extends special thanks to the First Responders, Alleghany County EMS, Alleghany Sherriff’s Office, and Sparta Police Department.
