Dwayne Clive Smith

Dwayne Clive Smith, age 92, of Ennice, North Carolina passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Wilkes Health and Rehab in North Wilkesboro, NC. He was born on January 26, 1932 in Alleghany County, North Carolina, a son of the late Luther H. Smith and the late Levie Higgins Smith. Dwayne retired from the NCDOT after over 30 years in the construction department. He was of the Baptist faith and a proud veteran of the United States Army. He loved gospel music and being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Luther H. Smith; mother, Levie Smith; Wife, Reba J. Smith; four brothers, Kyle Smith, Don Smith, Glenn Smith, Dean Smith; sister, Ina Lou Rector. Dwayne leaves behind to cherish his memory son, Terry, and wife Doris Smith of Ennice, NC; two granddaughters, Crystal Smith of Boone, NC, Terri, and husband Matt Preston of Boone, NC; great-granddaughter, Shaelyn Preston; great grandson, Sawyer Preston. Services for Dwayne C. Smith will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 beginning at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Lovelace officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm on Thursday at Grandview Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Crab Creek Cemetery with full military rites conducted by Bruce Wayne Osborne VFW Post #7034.
