Ed Woodle

Lonzie “Edward” Woodle, age 85, of 288 Mahogany Rock Road, Sparta, NC passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Grayson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Independence, VA. He was born March 19, 1934 in Grayson County, VA to the late Luther Woodle and Grace Woodle Ayers. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Marie Johnson Woodle; four brothers, Leo Woodle, Elmo Woodle, John Woodle and Lewis Woodle; three sisters, Vernelle Crouse, Joyce Davis and June Douglas; two stepsons, Wayne Blevins and Reeves Blevins, Jr. He was a dedicated member and deacon of Rich Hill Union Baptist Church. He is survived by one daughter, Doris Maines and husband David; two sons, Larry Woodle and wife Ann, David Woodle and wife Janie; three step-daughters, Susie Woodle, Vida Woodle and Ann Greene; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; one step-daughter-in-law, Joann Blevins, one stepson, Gene Blevins and wife Carlene; two sisters, Elizabeth Cooke and Elaine Higgins; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Ed at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2019 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Elder Kyle Jordan and Elder Wayne Todd officiating. Interment will follow in Saddle Mountain Cemetery in Ennice. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
