Henry Earl Hayes

Henry Earl Hayes went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 26 at his home. He loved Jesus with all his heart and showed his faith daily in the way he lived and treated others. He truly had a servant’s heart, always caring more about others than himself. Henry was a quiet and humble man who lived a life of integrity – a quality he demonstrated every day. Henry is survived by his wife and best friend of 44 years, Mary Beth, who knew every day how loved she was by her husband. He had 2 sons that were the pride of his life and their wives whom he loved like daughters: Steven and Ashley Hayes and Mark and Lacey Jaye Hayes. He had 2 granddaughters that brought him joy beyond belief: Zara Oaklynn and Lainey Elizabeth. Henry was blessed with a loving sister and husband, David and Linda Gilbert, and other extended family. If you wish to make a memorial, Henry faithfully attended Cornerstone Community Church in Galax, VA whose address is PO Box 757, Galax, VA 24333. Henry also loved to participate in the Shoe Box Ministry of Samaritan’s Purse in Boone, NC. Their address is 801 Bamboo Road, Boone, NC 28607. Because Henry had given blood for over 40 years, please consider giving a pint of blood in memory of him at the next Bloodmobile or a donation to the American Red Cross Blood, Platelet and Plasma Center at 650 Coliseum Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
