Hilda Beatrice Sorger Norris, age 83 of Galax, VA died Friday, July 15, 2016 at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, VA. She was born on October 22, 1932 in Union County, New Jersey to the late Henry and Evelyn Currier Sorger. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Thomas Norris; son-in-law, William Guy Mullins, Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Mullins of Johnson City, TN and Ellen Lee Meade, Ph.D. of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren Joshua Smith, Peyton Mullins and Diane White; two great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Norwood and Barbara Norris of Apex; several nieces and nephews also survive. At Hilda’s request she will be cremated and her cremains will be inurned at Salisbury National Cemetery with her husband Paul. There will be no formal services. Ms. Hilda was always a special person to us at the Sparta post office. She would always bring us special treats, a beautiful smile, and great friendship. She was a very sweet, silly, make you laugh type of woman. I think of her often, and miss her dearly! Love to you always pretty lady!
