Howard Ruffus Caudill, age 76 of Glade Valley, NC 28627 passed away October 10, 2023 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. He was born February 4, 1947 to the late James Caudill and Stella Owens Caudill Marshall. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Janet Simons Caudill; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Caudill. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. He worked in logging since childhood. He was a hard worker, loved his family and the Lord. He is survived by two sons, Jeff Caudill of Galax, VA, David Caudill and wife Linda of Rural Hall; one daughter, Kathy Nelson of Lowgap; one stepson, Jackie Billings and wife April of Sparta; one stepdaughter, Missy Sidden of Sparta; three grandchildren; four sisters Jeanette Edwards of Galax, VA, Shirley Evans of Randleman, Barbara Winsett of Galax, VA, and Mary Ann Miller of Laurel Springs; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Memorials may be made to New Salem Baptist Church, c/o Linda Killon, 52 West Hill Lane, Sparta, NC 28675. The best memories I have of Howard was when he was married to BERNICE Caudill.We would go to the ball park and play ball and we liked to go swimming.He will be missed.
Howard loved to pick and you could always have fun when he was around.
