John Monroe Absher, age 29 of 19 Big Pine Lane, Glade Valley, NC died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at his residence. He was born July 4, 1982 in Alleghany County to Bobby and Margaret Shaw Absher. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Dean Absher, Jr.; paternal grandparents, J.K. and Beulah Absher; maternal grandparents, James and Olene Shaw. He is survived by his wife, Karina Absher of the home; one son, Logon Absher of the home; his father, Bobby Absher of Sparta; his mother, Margaret Absher of Glade Valley; two sisters, Rebecca Norma of Glade Valley, Alicia Lawson and husband Matt of Piney Creek; mother-in-law, Angie Upchurch of N. Wilkesboro; father-in-law, C.B. Chappell of Sparta; one brother-in-law, Bruce Chappell and wife Eva of Sparta; one sister-in-law, Crystal Chappell of Lowgap; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Grandview Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Crab Creek Cemetery in Ennice. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grandview Memorial Funeral Home, PO Box 10, Sparta, NC 28675 to help assist the family with funeral expenses.
