John Wayne Blevins

John Wayne Blevins, 74, of 4827 Shawtown Rd., Ennice, NC died Friday, November 30, 2012 at his residence. He was born July 13, 1938 in Alleghany County to the late Reeves and Marie Johnson Blevins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kitty Ann Blevins. He was employed with Caldwell Construction Company since 1978. Mr. Blevins is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Andrews Blevins of the home; two daughters: Deana Hayden and husband Marion of Ennice, Christel Hirsch and husband Brian of Morganton, NC; one son: Darren Blevins of Grover, SC; four sisters: Susie Woodel, Doris Tolliver, and Vida Woodel all of Sparta and Ina Mae Greene of Ennice; four brothers: Gene Blevins and wife Carlene, Junior Blevins, Larry Woodle and wife Ann, and David Woodle and wife Janie all of Sparta; four grandchildren: Cody Blevins, Seth and Lauren Hayden, and Luci Hirsch; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Fairview Baptist Church in Galax, VA with the Reverend Sam Holder, Elder Junior Bottomley and Mr. Darren Bottomley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Saturday evening at the church and at other times at the Blevins residence.
