Juanita Combs

Juanita Combs, age 89 of Sparta, NC 28675 passed away Monday, November 6, 2023 at Clemmons Village 1 in Clemmons, NC. She was born September 7, 1934 in Watauga County to the late Eugene and Maude Eggers Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Combs; one son, Dennis Walter Combs; one great-grandson, Dennis Walter Combs, Jr.; two sisters, Patsy Daniels, Betty Jean Billings; six brothers, Arville Johnson, Omar Johnson, Bill Johnson, Loyld Johnson, Lowell Johnson and Walter Johnson. Juanita was a member of Scottsville Baptist Church. She loved reading her books and working in her flowers. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Combs Shell of Lenoir, Tammy Combs Billings of Lexington; five grandchildren, Douglas Combs of Lenoir, Derek Bell and wife Angie of Lenoir, Jennifer Whitman and husband Jeff of Lexington, Sandy Worley and husband Jackie of Lexington and Michael Billings and wife Kacy of Lexington; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive; one brother, Michael Johnson of Sparta; two sisters, Ella Billings and husband Bill of Sparta and Brenda Cochran of Sparta; canine companion, Katie. The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Grandview Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Shipes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
