Lorraine Billings Wooten

Lorraine Billings Wooten age 84 of Sparta passed away September 13, 2021 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Wilkes Medical Center. She was born January 21, 1937 in Alleghany County to the late Rex and Lillie Brinegar Billings. She was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Marie Crouse; four brothers, Junior Kern Billings, Bobby Rex Billings, Billy Joe Billings, and Roger Lee Billings. She was a very dedicated mother. She would do anything for people and loved being a caregiver of her brother Bill who had disabilities. She is survived by one son, Greg Wooten of the home and special friend Lettie Blevins; one sister, Rachel Ann Evans; one brother, David Wayne Billings and wife Margaret; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews also survive. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Wilkes Medical Center and Palliative Care. Memorials may be made to Landmark Union Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mary Evans 32 Center Street, Sparta, NC 28675. The family will hold a memorial service at 6:00 PM Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Landmark Union Baptist Church Cemetery with the Pastor Doug Combs officiating. Everyone is welcome and the family requests that those in attendance take appropriate precautions and wear a mask due to COVID.
