To View LiveStream of Marjorie's Service Click Here Marjorie Florence Truitt, age 89 of 94 South Avenue, Harrisonburg, VA passed away Monday, October 30, 2023 at Blue Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing. She was born in Alleghany County to the late Dewey and Ellen Joines Truitt. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Cheryl Jean Hendrix; one sister, Annie Mae Truitt. She graduated from Sparta High School in 1952 and went on to get a college degree and worked in the medical records field. Marjorie had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed meeting her friends at JBs on Saturday mornings for breakfast. She enjoyed dancing at the Jubilee. She was a member of the Alleghany Red Hat Club for many years. She enjoyed out of town trips with her friends. Marjorie loved watching Duke basketball. Marjorie is survived by one daughter, Carol Ann Hendrix of MD; one son, Brian Ralph Hendrix, and wife Karen M. from MD; four grandchildren, Michael Wayne Bell of PA, Carrie Lynn Boebel and husband Chris of MD, Valentina Jean Holderby of FL and Brian Ralph Hendrix, Jr. of MD; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Marjorie at 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 4, 2023 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Collins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to extend special thanks to Pastor Paul Collins, Wes and Jean Allen and Eula Rae Cook.
