Mary Ruth Setzer

Mary Ruth Wyatt Setzer, age 76 of Laurel Springs, NC passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born November 14, 1941 in Ashe County to the late Clyde and Hazel Mabe Wyatt. Mary Ruth was a volunteer of the local nursing home for 15 years. She also volunteered at Sparta United Methodist Church. She was a recipient of Alleghany’s Governor Award in 2005. She is survived by her husband, Larry Setzer of the home; two daughters, Andora Headen and spouse Reddy Martinez of El Paso, TX, Susan Hackman and spouse Brad of Raleigh; two grandsons, Matthew Martinez of El Paso, TX, Devin Hackman of Raleigh; two granddaughters, Megan Hackman and Jessica Hackman both of Raleigh; one brother, Cecil Wyatt and spouse Dorothy of Sparta; one brother-in-law, Dennis Setzer and spouse Patsy of Winnemucca, NV; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. The family will hold a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 at Sparta United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Miller officiating.
