Mazie Bare Sturgill Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mazie Marie Bare Sturgill, age 92 of 7595 NC Hwy 113, Piney Creek, NC died Friday, August 12, 2016 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin, NC. She was born August 10, 1924 in Ashe County to the late Felix and Lola Taylor Bare. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Neil Sturgill; seven brothers and sisters. She was a member of Elk Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Barry Sturgill and wife Sherry of Piney Creek; one grandson, Travis Sturgill and wife Jennifer of Piney Creek; one great-grandson, Ryan Sturgill of Piney Creek; one sister, Audrey Ming of Sparr, FL; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Mazie at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Elder James Wyatt officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Piney Creek. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
