John Paul Smith, age 74 of 1905 Crab Creek Road, Ennice, NC passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 at his residence. He was born October 13, 1944 in Alleghany County to the late Don Kenny and Lillian Wagoner Smith. Paul was a member of Glade Creek Union Baptist Church and served as a Deacon for over 50 years. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service with over 30 years of service. His greatest joys were his grandchildren, singing, and sharing his garden with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Wanda Musgrove Smith of the home; three sons, Chris Smith and wife Tonda of Greensboro, John Kenny Smith of Ennice, Daniel Smith and wife Redeana of Hickory; one daughter, Paula Wagoner and husband Brian of Sparta; seven grandchildren, Garrison Wagoner, Allie Wagoner, Tanner Smith, Taylor Smith, Megan Smith, Davis Smith, John Paul Smith; one step-grandson, Hunter Ballard; one brother, Wayne Smith of Chattanooga, TN; two nieces, Michelle Jones and husband Gary of TN; Angie Smith of GA. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to celebrate the life of Paul at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2019 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Glade Creek Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
