Mrs. Rissie Pauline Brewer Royal

Rissie Pauline Brewer Royal, age 85 of 1203 Piney Creek School Road, Piney Creek, NC died Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. She was born on May 10, 1928 in Grayson County, VA to the late John Combs and Bridie Phipps Brewer. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Janie Brewer Locklear. She is survived by her husband, Billy Joe Royal of Sparta; two daughters, Velva Tryetha Hodge and husband Jerry Lee of Piney Creek and Clevie Wingate and husband Danny of Virginia; one brother, Everett Lee Brewer of Independence, VA; three sisters, Gardella Sexton of Independence, VA, Eunice Ward of West Jefferson and Dyette Hash of N. Wilkesboro; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Gay Cornett of Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Grandview Memorial Chapel with Rev. Clifford Brewer and Mr. Tracy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Grubbs Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Grayson County, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
