Robert Tooker “Bob” Copley, age 74 of 2473 NC Hwy 113, Laurel Springs, NC died Monday, January 25, 2016 at Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta, NC. He was born May 3, 1941 in Buffalo, New York to the late Everett and Joan Tooker Copley. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Copley of the home; three sisters, Lynn Graves, Marie Taylor and husband Barry, Carole Copley; two sisters-in-law, Judy DeGasperis and husband Dan, Elaine Worrall; one brother-in-law, Glen Worrall; nieces, Ann Marie and Susan; nephews, Monty, Jeremy, Richard, Craig, Jeff and Jason. Bob and Joyce did not have any children but Lisa Wong has been like a daughter to them. The family will hold a Celebration of Life service Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Peak Creek Church of the Brethren with Brother Ed Hall officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. So very sorry to hear about Bob. It seems God has a way of telling long distance friends because I thought about you and Bob all week so tonight I tried to call you and when there was no answer I searched your name on face book and saw this. This is so very sad for me. I have a picture of Bob setting with me at the wheel horse show that I will treasure for ever. I remember you saying he was a trooper. If only I would have spent more time with him there at the show. I only saw you two once a year at the show but that was QUALITY time that I'll never forget. Bob was always a kind and warm hearted man! His help to me during to early days of POCI was invaluable. I'll always remember his honesty when I purchased a car from him! Speaking with Bob and Koyce was always a fun experience.
Thank you Bob, you were a part of my life that will never be forgotten!

Bob was a wonderful influence in my life as a child. He would take time with me to show me his trains, his cars,(GTO's), and he also taught me how to play Tom Dooley on the guitar. Such a wonderful person and mentor. May you fly freely now and I will see you again my friend.

Bob and I were directors of the national Pontiac and Oldsmobile car clubs respectively when we met and hit it off well. I always enjoyed time spent with him and Joyce, talking about our common car interests and in later years his lawnmowers. Bob was a class act even when he outed me, an Olds Club director, as a closet Pontiac guy to the editor of High Performance Pontiac! RIP my friend.
