Roger Dale Edwards, age 48 of 4208 Old Hwy 421, Hamptonville, NC died Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born April 21, 1965 in Alleghany County to Paul Roger and Edith Cleo Duncan Edwards. He was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Edwards of Hamptonville; his father, Paul Roger Edwards of Sparta; two brothers, Jeffrey Edwards of Johnson City, TN, Brian Edwards and wife Miranda of New Bern; one sister, Judy Edwards of Mt. Airy; one step-brother, Doug Delp of Sparta; one step-sister, Michelle Delp of Sparta; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2013 at Grandview Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charlie Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Sparta. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until time of the service at the funeral home.
