Stuart Taylor

October 17, 1931 - November 7, 2018

Stuart Vester Taylor, age 87 of Sparta, NC passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Genesis Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Sparta. He was born on October 17, 1931 in Alleghany County to the late Daniel and Ennice Mabe Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, Jack Taylor, Dean Taylor, Dan Taylor and Frank Taylor; four sisters, Faye Hines, Tina Hash, Dot Miller and Grace Pruitt. Stuart was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He was in the Hall of Fame at NC State University for the work he did in the Animal Husbandry Department. He love the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and videotaping the wildlife. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Taylor of the home; one daughter, Jane Taylor of the home; two sons, Jim Taylor of Raleigh, Alan Taylor and wife Connie of New Hill; two grandchildren, Tim Taylor and wife Tracy of Cary, Allyson Vaskey and husband Cole of Huntingtown, MD; three great-grandchildren, Everly Vaskey, Caden Vaskey and Savannah Vaskey; special nieces, Janet Moss and Myrtle Caudill; several other nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to celebrate the life of Stuart at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 11, 2018 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Brother Ralph Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Cranberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
