Sue G. Finney

Sue Grubb Finney, age 84 of Sparta, NC passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center on February 9, 2024. She was born in Alleghany County on January 1, 1940 to the late John R. and Maude Hames Grubb. Sue was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church. She loved working in her flowers and cleaning her house. She always checked to make sure everyone was okay. She loved to cook and making people happy. She was a praying and faithful lady who prepared communion for 35 years for her church. Sue loved the children she worked with before her retirement from Alleghany County Schools and they were always dear to her heart. She is survived by her husband, James Finney of the home; one daughter Amy Greene and husband Randall of Sparta; one granddaughter, Emily Marshall and husband Tanner of Hillsville, VA; one sister, Rebecca Wolfe and husband Tom of Mersersburg, PA; special niece Mary Ellen Lyall Morgan and son Eli; and a host of family and friends, that will forever miss her. The family request the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Sue at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2024 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Dave Serven and Brother Hugh Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024 in the chapel of the funeral home.
