Sue Halsey Harris Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sue Halsey Harris, age 86 of 8691 NC Hwy 113, Piney Creek, NC passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Genesis Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Sparta, NC. She was born in Alleghany County July 22, 1930 to the late Harmon Lonnie and Mattie Brown Halsey. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Preece. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 64 ½ years, General Bert Harris of the home; two sons, Billy Harris and wife Jamie of Stony Point, Kenny Harris and wife Cheryl of Piney Creek; five grandchildren, Seth Harris and wife Heather of Taylorsville, Ian Harris and wife Candice of Stony Point, Shane Harris and wife Courtney of King, Slade Harris of Piney Creek, Bryseda Harris of Piney Creek; six great-grandchildren, Nathan Harris, Jasmine Harris, Kathryn Harris, Owen Harris, Jackson Harris, Oliver Harris; one sister, Joyce Sells of Lenoir; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family request the honor of your presence at the graveside service to honor the life of Sue at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2016 at Piney Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery with Brother Hugh Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:45 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the graveside service. Sue requested no flowers. The family request no food be brought to the home.
