Vivian Gambill Weaver

Vivian Gambill Weaver, age 106 of 71 East Cheek Street, Sparta, NC died Thursday morning, August 4, 2016 at her residence. She was born June 19, 1910 in Alleghany County to the late Robert and Minnie McMillan Gambill. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lacy Weaver; two sisters, Zenna Richardson and Fairy Gambill; two brothers, James Wallace Gambill and R.L. Gambill. She graduated from Appalachian and Radford College, and taught school for 50 years in Mt. Rogers and in Marion, VA. She moved back to Alleghany County in 1990. She was member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Marion, VA. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Vivian at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2016, in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Brother Ed Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Elk Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
