Wendy Hamm Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Wendy Sykes Hamm, age 50 of Sparta, NC passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born June 19, 1969 in Mebane, North Carolina to Everette Cicero Sykes, Jr., and Catherine Farrell Smith. She was preceded in death by her father. Wendy was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and was the church secretary. She was a good wife, mother, hard worker, savvy, and was the light of any gathering. She had a good sense of humor and was a people person. She is survived by her husband, Ricky Hamm of the home; three children, Whitney Dail and husband Joseph of Mebane, Everette Blalock of Greensboro, Trent Tilley of the home; two step-daughters, Heather Weber and husband Joe of Statesville, Megan Stone and husband Kory of Sparta; one granddaughter, Mazey Blalock; two step-grandsons, Magnum Payne of Mt. Airy and Tanner Stone of Sparta; two step-granddaughters, Zoey Stone and Ryleigh Stone; her mother, Catherine Smith; three brothers, Jr. Sykes and wife Robin of Mebane, Jeff Sykes and wife Cindy of Mebane, and Jon Sykes of Mebane; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Wendy at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2019 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Elder Gwyn Hamm and Brother Graylen Blevins officiating. Interment will follow in New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
