Will Hamm, age 85, of 156 Deer Haven Road, Sparta, N.C. passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Alleghany Center/Genesis Healthcare in Sparta, N.C. He was born September 22, 1935 in Alleghany County, North Carolina to the late Arvie and Edna Caudill Hamm. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Hamm; four sisters, Faye Wagner, Betty Mae Wood, Ann Cox, and Irene Brown. Will was a member of Whitehead Union Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed working with wood. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pauline Hamm of the home; two sons, George Hamm and wife Sandy of Sparta, Mike Hamm and wife April of Sparta; five grandchildren, Brandi Hamm and Adam Ring of Sparta, Casey Norman and husband Kevin of Sparta, Jimmy Hamm and wife Kathleen of Mooresville, Daniel Caudill and Lacey Canter of Troutman, Rachel Caudill of Raleigh; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Welter Hamm and Charlie Hamm both of Sparta; one sister, Ethel Francis and husband Jerry of Texas; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests your presence at the graveside service to honor the life of Will at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2020 at Whitehead-Joines Cemetery with Reverend Jimmy Hamm and Reverend Homer Murdock officiating. A public viewing will be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the funeral home, but the family will not be present. Friends may call or visit the homes of George and Sandy Hamm at 175 Lucas Street in Sparta, or Mike and April Hamm at 810 Fraser Road in Sparta. Due to the current COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve.
