Betty McKinney

Betty Lou Holloway McKinney, age 71 of Sparta, NC passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born March 20, 1947 in Alleghany County to the late John Mack and Nora Combs Holloway. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne McKinney; eight brothers and two sisters. She loved the Lord and attended Little Pine Liberty Baptist Church. Betty was a very special sister. She is survived by one sister, Delma Mahan of Sparta; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Crouse of Sparta, Virginia Holloway of Piney Creek; two special nephews, Wint Brown and wife Ella of Wilkesboro, Junior Brown and wife Ruby of Wilkesboro; several other nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to celebrate the life of Betty at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Little Pine Liberty Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry Roten and Brother Josh Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church and other times at the home of Delma Mahan, 2099 Fox Ridge Road, Sparta, NC 28675.
