Bobby Royal, Sr.

Bobby Lee Royal, Sr., age 61, of Sparta, NC passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. He was born August 3, 1957 in Alleghany County to the late Earl Paul and Bessie Jones Royal. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Lucille Trivette; mother-in-law, Fredia Royal. Bobby had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a hard worker, a good father, grandfather, and husband. He always spoke his mind. Bobby liked to draw, work in the garden, and take care of his children. He was a member of Bellview Baptist Church and was the grounds keeper. He loved his church family. He is survived by his wife Janet Royal of the home; one daughter, Heather McSorley and husband DeWayne of Ennice; one son, Bobby Lee Royal, Jr. of the home; two grandsons, Travis Nathaniel McSorley and Dustin Scott McSorley; two sisters, Margie Moody of Thurmond, Barbara Carpenter of Lansing; two brothers, Billy Joe Royal of Sparta, Gary Royal of Lansing; special friends, Danny and Beverly Pruitt. The family requests the honor of your presence at the Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Bobby at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Pruitt and Brother Ed Hall officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
