Jimmy Poole

James A. “Jimmy” Poole, Sr., age 86 of Joppa, MD passed away on September 7, 2018 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. He was born in Alleghany County to the late William Beale and Bina Elizabeth Edwards Poole. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Sue Osborne Poole. They were married 62 years until her death in 2012. When James first came to Maryland he worked at Martin Marietta. He moved to Harford County in 1963, and later retired from the Diecraft Division of Bausch & Lomb. He was an amazing mathematician, loved NASCAR and the Indy 500, but the most important thing to him was his family. He is survived by two daughters, Lisa D. Berkebile and husband Bob, Sondra Magness and husband Bob; one son, James A. Poole, Jr. and wife Pauleen; one brother, Ralph B. Poole and wife Peggy; six grandchildren, Michele Magness-Hill and husband Matt, Jonathan Magness, Joshua Poole, Matthew Berkebile, Ryan Berkebile, Zachary Poole; three great-grandchildren, Grace Magness, Hannah Hill and Layton Hill. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to celebrate the life of Jimmy at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 16, 2018 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Brother Hugh Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Sparta Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
