Thomas Wayne McClure, age 59 of 5839 Delhart Road, Galax, VA passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at his residence. He was born August 4, 1960 in Alleghany County to Thomas Samuel and Virginia Wave Anderson McClure. He was preceded in death by his father. Thomas enjoyed fishing, tinkering with anything mechanical. He is survived by one daughter, Holly Savage and husband Chris of Glade Valley; one son, Sam McClure and wife Hope of Glade Valley; four grandchildren; his mother, Virginia McClure of Sparta; one brother, Jimmy McClure and wife Lora of Virginia; special companion and children, Karla Burcham and children Brittany Sumner, and Jessica Marie Cook; several nieces also survive. There will be a private memorial service held Friday, July 10, 2020 at Grandview Memorial Funeral Home. Pastor Junior Bullion officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local animal shelter. The family would like to extend special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice. Sam, Holly, words can't say enough in times like these. I used to think of your dad as a second dad, and it's tough knowing he's gone. I know it's even harder for you. He was a good man who loved you both and cared about you. From the life lessons he taught us, projects like building the clubhouse, to foiling our adolescent attempts to get in various kinds of trouble. I miss him, and know you do too.
